Considered by some to be the best prospect in the 2021 NC class, Dontrez Styles has all the tools to carry on the rich tradition of Kinston, NC region’s production of high major recruits. While in a pool of other major talented 2021 players at the SE All-Freshman Invitational, Dontrez clearly showed he was amongst the best in attendance. At one point he showed off the range and hit several threes, a few with a hand in his face, although his jumper is not yet consistent enough to be his bread-and-butter. That still belongs to his aggressiveness getting to the rim. When he faced a few select opponents it almost looked personal as Dontrez seemed to want to prove he could attack and finish at will. If Dontrez manages to stay in attack mode and his jumper becomes a little more consistent he will be one of the most sought after prospects in that class, and not just in NC.
