One of the most intriguing players in New Orleans for the Exposure HoopFest was Houston Defenders power forward Valentin Catt. He played like a grown man among boys. A defensive nightmare, the agile Valentin contested every shot from the wing to the rim, pinning shots high on the backboard. We was extremely aggressive on both ends of the glass, getting put backs in traffic and using his height and strength advantage to score against smaller opponents. He’s also a pretty good interior passer, utilizing the high low game several times with teammate Eddie Lampkin. But what makes Valentin such a high upside prospect is his versatility. He’s a kid that will be a major prospect if he lands on the right campus.
