Team Attack/Sterling, VA 2020 5'7 PG -From the opening tip, Markel controlled the tempo of his team defensively and offensively. He had an overall quickness on both sides of the floor that was not easily contained. Strong athleticism allowed him to disrupt the offense, close in on a shooter, force a turnover, fill the lane on a fast break and be there for the putback, all in one possession. All 5'7" of him had no fear attacking the paint against a bigger and stronger defense. Because of his elite level handles, we didn't see much shooting from the perimeter. He was too busy crossing up and spinning out of traps and double teams, to even get many shots off. All Markel needs is a growth spurt to compliment his high basketball 10.
