Shawn "OG" McCray

A resident of Newark, New Jersey, Shawn is a pillar in the community in which he was born and raised. McCray, a high school hoop legend also played college basketball at Caldwell University where he also received his degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice. For 23 years Shawn McCray has operated the famous Zoo Crew Summer Basketball League based in Newark, NJ which has hosted some of New Jersey’s and New York’s most talented players. OG, (which stands for Old Guy according to his players) has spent the last 14 years as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Newark Central High School. Yes, the same Central High School that was featured in the YouTube Original Series “Best Shot” executive produced by Lebron James. You see this announcement is special to us because Shawn “OG” McCray is what we mean when we say “IT’S BIGGER THAN BASKETBALL!”
